Another Blooming Christmas

This cocktail represents one of the few Christmas movies I genuinely enjoy, Father Christmas (1991). I have watched this movie every holiday season since I can remember and my favorite part has always been watching Father Christmas deliver presents while Mel Smith sings Another Blooming Christmas!

I wanted this cocktail to be a little bit more refreshing and bubbly to represent Santa’s pre-Christmas holiday were he travels to France, Scotland, and Las Vegas. But of course it still needed to be wintery because after all it is Father Christmas we are talking about here.

Ingredients

1 1/2oz Forest Dweller Gin from Arbutus

1oz Rosso Vermouth from Esquimalt Wines

3/4oz Spiced Cranberry Simple Syrup from Frostbite

4oz Mandarin Soda Water

Method

Pour all ingredients except the soda water into a tin with ice and stir until very well chilled, add to glass along with soda water and gently stir. Garnish with frosted cranberries, to do this lightly coat fresh cranberries in simple syrup or honey and roll around in granulated white sugar and allow to dry over night.
