The Hermit
Ingredients
1oz Akvavit from Sheringham
1 Tablespoon or 15ml Chartreuse
1/2 oz Sage and Thyme Simple Syrup
4 Drops Rosehip Bitters from Free Pour Jenny’s
1/2oz Lemon Juice, Cucumber, Dill
Method
Muddle cucumber and dill, add everything else and ice, shake, strain into glass, top with soda water
Garnish with a slice of cucumber sprinkled with salt pepper and chili flakes
Drop garnish into drink and stir (adds a little kick)
Sage and Thyme Simple Syrup
1/2 Cup White Sugar
1 Cup Water
3 Tablespoons Sage and Thyme (fresh is best, if using dried add a more to taste)
Method
Bring water, sugar, and herbs to a simmer and keep stirring until all the sugar is dissolved. Once sugar is dissolved move to the back of the stove and leave to steep for at least 1 hour.
